Recently, while talking about church with a non-believer, this person pointed out that he really couldn’t see much difference between Christians and non-Christians in today’s society. Sadly, I had to somewhat agree with him. All the problems of society can also be found within the church.
“But when it’s all said and done,” I told him, “your relationship with God and my relationship with God are not about other people. You have to decide for yourself who Jesus is to you.”
“Well, I’m not going to sit in a church and pretend to be something I’m not,” this man said with feeling.
I respected him for this. “I’m glad,” I answered. “Jesus doesn’t want you to pretend to be something you’re not.”
While reading about the gay marraige debate, I came across a comment from another man who pointed out, why should gays have to follow the Bible when even Christians can’t follow the Bible? Christians divorce all the time when the Bible says not to divorce. Christians
