Does God ever surprise you? I mean really surprise you? Like what you planned is nothing like what you ended up with? But you’re really excited anyway?
In January, I was thrilled to hear from my dream agent. It looked like I was on my way to traditional publishing, and then…
as the days spun out really, really slowly, I remembered why I gave up on traditional publishing. Can I blame it on Amazon?
There are millions of books now available to read thanks to the Amazon machine. This makes it very hard for traditional publishers to take a chance on a new author, especially someone who doesn’t fit into a tried and true genre. Like my novels, my memoir is too edgy for the Christian market, but I really do love Jesus and want to write about eternal things. I search for spiritual answers while crafting my stories. We are all on a journey and I’m looking for a tribe to travel with. As much as I would love to go with a traditional publisher, I don’t want to wait years to share my books.
I can’t get into the details yet of how my journey of publishing my memoir Farming Grace is unfolding, it’s not like I expected, that’s for sure. But I can tell you the good news: if you are waiting to read the book, it should come out early this summer on Amazon. We are hoping for June.
Here is the book trailer. Ashton Imagery did such a beautiful job making the film, and yes, that is me reading the opening of the story. My voice sounds funny to my own ears, but hopefully, you will enjoy the beautiful farm scenery in this little film.
